Good evening everyone!

Easter was a glorious day!  We’re almost a week from last Sunday’s celebration and it is good to remind ourselves during this season that Jesus’ resurrection continues to be! He continues to be risen!

He didn’t just resurrect “past-tense” for one occasion to prove His superiority over death by crucifixion, nor did He just resurrect “future-tense” for the new bodies we will get “in the resurrection.”  He resurrected to provide us “present-tense” benefits. Today. Right now.

Here are three resurrection benefits for us today, and every day. There are more but for now let’s think upon these.

Three Great Benefits of the Resurrection For Today:

Benefit 1 – We are alive!  When you and I received Jesus Christ as our Savior, He made us alive, right then and there! As a result of his resurrection we were given a new life. We became a new creation spiritually and were given the right to be a child of God with all the  privileges afforded to such a one. “But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ . . .”   (Ephesians 2:4-5)  Each day is an alive & living adventure.

Benefit 2 – We have hope!  Ephesians 2:12 says that at one time we were hopeless without God. That was our condition before we received Jesus Christ. But because Jesus conquered death by his resurrection, we have been provided unlimited hope. We can hope in Christ for every situation we find ourselves in.  “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”  (1 Peter 1:3)  Claim your hope for today and your bright hope for tomorrow . . . and all the way into eternity!

Benefit 3 – We have power!  Have you ever considered that your body is constantly being  renewed by the fresh blood from your lungs and the nutrients from your digestive system? The same is true of your spiritual lives. The resurrection life of the Word of God and the Holy Spirit will renew you every day. Let’s put it this way; it’s a daily resurrection for you and me – spirit, soul and body!   "If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you."  (Romans 8:11)  Resurrection power is ours for the taking!

Let’s continue celebrating Jesus’ resurrection every day by allowing its truth to impact our lives!
